New Haven Donates to Local Food Pantries
November 9, 2021 – New Haven Donates to Local Food Pantries. As the holidays approach, the season of giving is just around the corner! In the spirit of Thanksgiving, New Haven Assisted Living & Dementia Care will be donating $100 to local food banks for every move-in at any of their communities during the month of November.
Food banks have been severely impacted by COVID-19. Studies estimate at least 60 million people turned to food banks, food pantries, and other private food assistance programs in 2020 in the midst of the health and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Food banks are facing increased demand for support, and operational capacity is strained. Many have seen drastic reductions in their food recovery efforts as well as a significant drop in volunteers. Justin Yarmark, CEO of New Haven Assisted Living & Dementia Care says:
“These food banks and assistance programs work tirelessly to serve those who rely on their services. It’s the least we can do to support those who support others.”
New Haven is proud to contribute this funding that will allow food banks to continue to purchase food and other necessities and serve the communities they call home. These donations during the month of November will ensure that even the most vulnerable will be served during this holiday season.
